Two held with 200 kg of ganja in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Two members of a six-member gang allegedly peddling ganja were nabbed by the Rachakonda Police Special Operations Team (SOT) on Wednesday, with the police seizing 200 kilograms of ganja from them.
The arrested persons were Shingarapu Saidulu (34) and C Saidi Reddy (28), while four others, M Venkanna, T Venkanna, G Nagendram and D Somra were absconding.
“Saidulu and Saidi Reddy purchased the ganja from D Somra along with M Venkanna and T Venkanna at Bhadrachalam and were on their way to the city. The ganja was hidden beneath the seats,” Rachakonda SOT DCP J Surender Reddy said. Following a tipoff, the police waved down the auto-rickshaw at Abdullapurmet and caught them.
T Venkanna and M Venkanna, who were escorting the auto in a car, managed to escape. Efforts are on to nab them, police said.
