Hyderabad: The U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad, in partnership with the Alliance for Commercialization and Innovation Research (ACIR), on Friday congratulated women entrepreneurs from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana who successfully completed the intensive Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program.

A capstone event for the Hyderabad cohort was held on Friday at St. Francis College for Women to commemorate the participants’ achievements and graduation. A similar culminating event for the Visakhapatnam cohort will be held on November 26 at Andhra University.

Speaking on the occasion, the U.S. Consul General Jennifer Larson extended heartfelt congratulations to program graduates and highlighted the opportunities of the untapped potential for women’s entrepreneurial leadership in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

“Supporting women’s entrepreneurship and the role of women as leaders in India’s formal economy is one of the U.S. Government’s top priorities. The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs advances our shared goal with India to empower women with the resources, connections, and skills they need to succeed,” she said.

The Consul General thanked Andhra University in Visakhapatnam and St. Francis College for Women in Hyderabad for hosting AWE cohorts on their campuses. Sixty women leaders participated in this six-month program in TS and AP, which combined innovative online learning platforms with localized in-class discussion, mentoring, and engagement with local business leaders and U.S. experts, as well as Indian alumni of U.S.-government supported exchange programs, a press release said.
