Mekala Vittal was reportedly depressed for failing to find a groom for his daughter

Adilabad: A 54-year-old alcoholic farmer died, allegedly by suicide, as he was reportedly depressed over his inability to repay loans at Degama village in Bazarhathnoor mandal on Saturday.
Bazarhathnoor Sub-Inspector Appa Rao said that Mekala Vittal ended his life as he was distressed by his inability to repay a loan of Rs 1 lakh availed from private lenders. He was depressed for failing to find a groom for his daughter. He was also addicted to liquor for quite a long time. Vittal is survived by wife, a daughter and son.
Vittal’s wife Amruta lodged a complaint with police. A case was registered and investigation was taken up.
