Sangareddy: Some unidentified miscreants are mysteriously setting two-wheelers on fire at Kolkur village, leaving the police and villagers clueless.

During the last fortnight, the miscreants set eight two-wheelers on fire in the night. The repeated incidents forced 20 villagers to get together to install CCTV cameras on the premises of their house.

The police also installed 14 CCTV cameras along the main road of the village to catch the accused. However, they could not identify the miscreants even 20 days after the first incident was reported.

Following multiple complaints from the villagers, the police took many people into custody and interrogated them, but they could not crack the case so far.

Meanwhile, the police with the help of the local youth were carrying out volunteer patrolling to keep a check on such incidents. However, the villagers were seen discussing the motive of these miscreants behind setting the vehicles on fire.

Interestingly, the bike of a man, who came to the village to attend a function, was also set on fire at 9.45 pm when the village was still awake. However, the villagers said no violent incidents were ever reported in the village.

Sadasivapet Inspector Mahesh Goud said they were keeping a close watch on the movement of the suspects. He hoped that they would soon catch them.

The villagers have appealed to the police to identify the miscreants and were also worried that they set might houses or other properties on fire.
