Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) secured the fourth rank nationally among Central Universities in the newly released International Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) India Rankings 2026. Additionally, UoH topped the list of central universities in the State.
The annual league tables, which evaluate top-performing higher education institutions across Universities, Engineering, and Business Schools, highlighted UoH’s sustained institutional development, robust research environment, and outstanding academic outcomes.
The IIRF India Rankings 2026 are recognized for their rigorous methodology. This year, institutions were thoroughly scrutinised using nine meticulously defined evaluation parameters, assessing both the qualitative and quantitative impact of the university’s academic ecosystem. Parameters were academic excellence & perception, research & output, employability & outreach, inclusivity & growth and transparency.
Reacting to the announcement, UoH Vice-Chancellor in-charge Prof. J Anuradha credited the achievement to the collective and tireless efforts of the university faculty, researchers, students, and non-teaching staff.
“Securing the fourth position in a highly competitive pool of central institutions underscores UoH’s core strengths in fostering cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, maintaining a healthy student-to-faculty ratio, and building robust global industry linkages,” she added.
