The University of Hyderabad has been ranked fourth among central universities in the IIRF India Rankings 2026, while topping the list within the State. The rankings, based on nine parameters including academic excellence, research output, and employability, highlight UoH’s strong institutional growth and research environment.

The central university is commencing its operations from the academic year 2024-25 after coming into being through a Parliament Act in 2023, with only three seats filled during the recently concluded admission counselling
Interested candidates can apply online by June 26, 2023. The salary for the posts ranges from Rs 18,000 to Rs 2,09,200 per month, depending on the position.
"For accessible higher education in Ladakh. I propose to set up a central university in Leh," said Sitharaman while presenting the Budget in the Parliament.
