Hyderabad: Professor at Advanced Centre of Research in High Energy Materials (ACRHEM), University of Hyderabad (UoH), Prof S Venugopal Rao has been selected as the Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences India (NASI), Allahabad, which is the considered as the oldest science academy in India, for the year 2021.
Prof Venugopal Rao joined ACRHEM in 2007 as a Reader and was promoted as a Professor in 2013. Prof Venugopal Rao has successfully guided 11 PhD students and 5 more are working in his group. Prof Venugopal has published 1 book, 17 book chapters, and more than 350 papers in refereed journals and international conference proceedings, presented more 150 papers in various international/national conferences.
Prof Venugopal has been recognized as one among the top 2 percent of scientists in the field of optics and photonics as per a recent study and he is also the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), UK (2020). The top researcher is also Fellow of the Institute of Physics, London, UK and Fellow of the Telangana Academy of Sciences.
