US Consulate officials visit SATG, explore collaboration for sports development in Telangana

Officials from the U.S. Consulate visited the Sports Authority of Telangana to review the state's sports development initiatives, discuss its policy and infrastructure, and explore future collaboration aimed at strengthening grassroots development, athlete support and international sporting engagement.

Hyderabad: Officials from the U.S. Consulate visited the Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) on Thursday and held a meeting with SATG officials to understand the state’s vision and initiatives for sports development.

During the visit, SATG VC &MD Dr. A.Sonibala Devi, IFS, presented a comprehensive briefing on the organisation’s key initiatives, including the Telangana Sports Policy, grassroots sports development, athlete development pathways, world-class infrastructure, talent identification programmes, and various initiatives aimed at nurturing sporting excellence across the state.

The U.S. Consulate delegation appreciated the significant progress made by Telangana in promoting sports and commended SATG’s strategic approach towards creating a robust sports ecosystem.
They delegation appreciated the initiatives undertaken by the Government of Telangana and conveyed their willingness to extend support for future sports development initiatives wherever possible through mutual collaboration.

The visit concluded with a positive discussion on exploring opportunities for cooperation and strengthening ties to promote sports excellence and international engagement.
