Hyderabad: Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the UST, a digital transformation solutions company, has transformed a once-barren lake into a water resource, in the Nizampet area of the city.

Partnered with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, the UST’s restoration of Bongulakunta lake will benefit around 250 families in the surrounding area and provides over 1,000 residents with a reliable water supply through their borewells.

In addition to restoring the lake, a walkway around the pond has been developed, creating a community space that features a children’s park and seating areas for recreation and community engagement.

A press release said the UST’s CSR team in Hyderabad played a key role in revitalizing the lake, which had suffered significant water loss due to drought and neglect. The project includes constructing a restoration bund and developing a water storage facility to aid in the lake’s recovery.

Vijayalakshmi Subba Rao, Corporator of Nizampet Division-1 and Venkata Peram, UST Center Head- Hyderabad along with UST’s CSR Team members Tirumala Vijaykumar P. Bikshapathi Endla, Surya Seshagiri Rao Khandavilli, Narendra Kanakala, and others participated in the project inauguration.
