The Congress leader alleged that the lawyer couple was murdered to cover up the lock-up death of a dalit, Sheelam Rangaiah in Manthani
Hyderabad: Condemning the brutal murder of advocate couple Gattu Vaman Rao and Gattu Nagamani on Wednesday, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has demanded a CBI probe into the incident.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress party will meet Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Hima Kohli, besides writing a letter to Chief Justice of Supreme Court S.A. Bobde. He also slammed Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for his silence on the gruesome murder. He said the Chief Minister has not even condemned the brutal killing of the lawyer couple.
The Congress leader alleged that the lawyer couple was murdered to cover up the lock-up death of a dalit, Sheelam Rangaiah in Manthani. Rangaiah allegedly died due to third degree torture by Manthani Police on May 26, 2020, he said.
Alleging that the law and order situation in the State had deteriorated and criminals were indulging in brutal murders across the State, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress would launch a mass agitation if those involved in the murders were not punished as per law.
