Suryapet: Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday urged the State government to fully spend the funds under the SC/ST Sub Plan for the welfare of Dalits in addition to the Dalit Bandhu.

Uttam Kumar Reddy submitted a memorandum addressed to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, to District Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy at the District Collectorate and requested him to send it to the Governor.

In the memorandum, he alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had not fulfilled several promises made to STs and SCs in the State. The Chief Minister promised three acre land to the landless Dalit and also provide the required money to meet cultivation expenditure on the land for one year, he said, adding: “Not a single Dailt got three acre land in many of the mandals in his Lok Sabha Constituency.”

Stating that TRS had promised in its 2014 election manifesto that Rs 10,000 crores would be spent on development of Dalitwadas and Rs 5,000 crores on tribal hamlets every year, the Congress leader said the TRS government failed to spend the promised amount in the last seven years.

He also criticised the State government for limiting implementation of Dalit Bandhu to some areas under the guise of pilot project. He also urged the Chief Minister to fulfill his promise of 12 per cent reservation for STs in the State.
