Vaccination drive for coal miners in Ramagundam
The vaccination programme was taken up at the Singareni Area hospital in Godavarikhani for coal miners of Ramagundam-1 area.
Peddapalli: Following instructions from Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar to inoculate all the coal miners in the coal belt region, Singareni Ramagundam region took up vaccination drive on Sunday and administered vaccine to over 100 coal miners.
The vaccination programme was taken up at the Singareni Area hospital in Godavarikhani for coal miners of Ramagundam-1 area. Around 100 employees above the age groups of 45 were administered the first dose of Covaxin. The medical staff also held a counseling session for the miners and educated them about the importance of following SMS (social distancing, wearing face masks and using sanitizer) besides vaccination.
RG-1 General Manager Lalvala Narayana, Assistant Chief Medical Officer B Venkateshwara Rao and others were also present.
The Singareni management decided to take up a massive vaccination drive in the coal belt and provide vaccine to all the miners in the first phase and later to their family members in the second phase. The management will take up a special drive of vaccination of all the coal miners within a month.
