Mancherial: Village Administrative Officers (VAO) belonging to Indira Kranthi Pathakam (IKP) urged the state government to enhance budgetary allocations. They submitted a representation to Collector Kumar Deepak here on Monday.
District honorary president of the VAOs Association (CITU) Dumpala Ranjith Kumar said that the Congress party, which had promised to give a monthly salary of Rs 26,000 to the staffers, did not keep its word even after completing two years in office. He wanted the government to allocate funds in the forthcoming budget for the salaries of the VAOs and to fulfil its poll promise.
Kuntala Kumar, the association district president, demanded that the government provide tablets and internet facilities to self-help groups in villages, easing the work of the VAOs. He requested it to offer salaries without classifying their jobs into grades. He also sought health and accidental insurance cover, besides other statutory benefits.
