Various educational institution owners express interest in competing for Nizamabad graduate MLC poll
The notification for graduate MLC constituency is likely to be issued by this month end as the tenure of sitting MLC T Jeevan Reddy is ending on March 29, 2025
Karimnagar: Owners of educational institutions are showing much interest to contest in the Nizamabad-Medak-Adilabad-Karimnagar graduates MLC constituency.
Though the aspirants in different political parties have not yet begun their campaigning, several owners of educational institutions have already launched campaigns and started meeting graduates in junior, degree colleges and other institutions across the constituency.
The notification for graduate MLC constituency is likely to be issued by this month end as the tenure of sitting MLC T Jeevan Reddy is ending on March 29, 2025.
Voter enrollment for the constituency will start on October 1. Hence, the owners of educational institutions have started campaigns well in advance and are moving ahead with a concept to meet each and every graduate in the segment and explaining their priorities if they were elected.
Chairman of Alphores educational institutions in Karimnagar, Dr V Narender Reddy is one among few institution owners who have set their eyes on the MLC polls. Before launching his campaign recently in Jagtial, Narender declared that he was in the fray.
He said he was ready to represent any political party, if a ticket was given to him. Otherwise, he would contest as an independent candidate.
Narender Reddy established educational institutions in Karimnagar, Adilabad, Hyderabad as well as adjacent Maharashtra. Earlier, he tried to contest for MP and other elections but in vain, as no political party gave him a ticket.
Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) founder president and owner of Valmiki Vidyalaya in Karimnagar, Yadagiri Shekhar Rao is another contender.
A strong follower of BRS party, Shekhar Rao hopes to get a ticket from the BRS. In the 2019 MLC polls, he filed nomination and expected BRS ticket, but had to withdraw as the party preferred to field Mamindla Chandrashekahar Goud. Shekhar Rao says he is determined this time to be in the fray.
In addition to these two a new entrant is Prasanna Harikrishna, who is a degree college lecturer and owner of Winners Publications. He has a good name among the educated youth preparing for various competitive examinations.
The study material prepared by Winners publications is being used by many youth preparing for competitive examinations. He also runs online classes. A close associate of Choppadandi MLA Medipally Satyam, Harikrishna is reportedly trying for Congress ticket.
Besides educationalists, a doctor and founder of BN Rao Foundation, Dr BN Rao is also contemplating to contest in MLC polls.
