A few days ago, the State government transferred Sajjanar, who was the Cyberabad Police Commissioner, and posted him as MD of TSRTC

Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer VC Sajjanar, who took charge as Managing Director of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) at Bus Bhavan here on Friday, has said that he would focus on restoring the past glory of the corporation apart from making it self-reliant.

Thanking Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for the opportunity to lead the TSRTC, Sajjanar said he was honoured to take charge as the corporation’s MD.


“TSRTC is a very prestigious organisation. It has made huge contributions towards the development of Hyderabad as well as Telangana. In fact, several senior officials from other States have visited the city to study TSRTC’s efficiency. I wish to make TSRTC as glorious as it was back in the days,” he said.

“I have three goals in mind for TSRTC. First, I want to make the corporation self-reliant and focus on increasing its revenues. Second, we will work towards customer satisfaction, as that is the most important aspect of any business. And last, I will be working extensively towards staff welfare. All efforts will be made to take care of our 48,000 employees, including drivers, mechanics, conductors and managers. I will also address any pending issues that the employees might have,” Sajjanar said about his vision for the corporation.

“For approximately three to four years now, the organisation has been facing tough times. We are incurring about losses of about Rs 8 crore every day. We also had the pandemic last year which further worsened our financial situation. The rising diesel prices and increased rates of spare parts have been a matter of concern as well. I and my team, which comprises very experienced officers, plan on conducting an in-depth study regarding all the issues being faced by TSRTC, and understand the various reasons for these financial losses. Once we have that worked out, we will chalk out a plan on improving the overall performance of the corporation,” he added.
