Rajanna-Sircilla: Two Class X students sustained injuries after being thrashed by the principal of a private school in the temple town of Vemulawada, with one of them suffering a fracture in his hand.
The incident occurred on Monday but came to light only on Wednesday. According to the victims, Ayan and Sai, both students of Class X at Hamsini Digi High School, had been absent from school for the past few days due to personal reasons.
Ayan was reportedly absent for nearly a fortnight as he was taking care of his mother, who had recently undergone surgery. With his father having migrated to Gulf countries in search of employment, Ayan had taken responsibility for assisting his mother during her recovery.
After explaining his situation, Ayan had obtained permission from the school management to resume attending classes. However, the school principal, Santhosh, allegedly thrashed both Ayan and Sai, citing non-completion of mathematics homework.
As a result of the assault, Ayan suffered a fracture to his left hand, while Sai sustained an injury to his little finger. When the parents questioned the school authorities over the incident, the management reportedly arrived at an understanding aimed at preventing the matter from being made public.
