Authorities could not stop devotees from gathering at the temple on the occasion of Sivakalyana on March 31. As devotees were not allowed to take part in the celestial wedding of lord Siva, thousands of pilgrims gathered outside the temple. Lanes and bylanes near the shrine were packed with devotees.
This prompted the temple officials not to allow devotees for the celestival wedding of Sri Rama. Bakthostva kalyanam and Rathostavam scheduled on April 21 on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami stand cancelled.
Besides Kodemokku, the popular ritual in the shrine, all other rituals have also been cancelled. The temple authorities have asked the devotees to perform online pujas.
