Rajanna-Siriclla: In a rare incident, a veterinary doctor saved the life of a sand boa by performing surgery in Sircilla town.
A resident of Chandrampet in the 12th ward of Sircilla municipality, from the Katipamula community, had been nurturing the sand boa in his home for the past 12 years.
The reptile was seriously injured when a crowbar accidentally fell on it, causing its intestines to protrude. Alarmed, the owner rushed the snake to veterinary doctor Abhilash in Sircilla, who performed an emergency surgery to save it.
The doctor successfully adjusted the intestines inside the stomach and stitched the wound with a six-inch suture. The snake was kept under observation for three days.
According to veterinary officials, the snake’s condition is now stable.
