District Collector Pamela Satpathy lent her voice to a Telugu song celebrating the girl child, released during an event marking International Girl Child Day in Karimnagar. The song was performed by Satpathy and accompanied by a dance from primary school students.
Karimnagar: District Collector Pamela Satpathy once again displayed her affection for children by lending her voice to a new song dedicated to the girl child.
The song titled “O Chinni Pichuka… Chinnari Pichuka” was sung by the Collector and released during a programme held at the Collectorate auditorium on Wednesday to mark International Girl Child Day. Originally written in Hindi by lyricist Swanand Kirkire, the song was translated into Telugu by writer and Telugu teacher Nandi Srinivas.
Satpathy rendered the Telugu version, dedicating it to each girl child.
It may be recalled that in November 2024, Satpathy had scripted and sang a rhyme titled ‘A to Z Quality Rhyme’ for children, which was appreciated for its creative message.
Adding to the celebrations, Class 1 and 2 students from the Government Primary School, Garshakurthy in Gangadhara mandal, performed a dance to the song, drawing applause from the audience.
