Vigilance raids expose shortage of CMR stocks worth Rs 10 crore in Sangareddy rice mills
The Vigilance and Enforcement department’s RC Puram Unit uncovered major shortages of Custom Milled Rice paddy stocks during surprise inspections in Sangareddy. At Samrat Food Industries in Sirgapur mandal, officials found 40,835 quintals of paddy worth Rs 9.47 crore missing.

Sangareddy: The Vigilance and Enforcement department’s RC Puram Unit has found a huge shortage of Custom Milled Rice (CMR) paddy stocks in a couple of rice mills during a surprise visit on Monday.
According to a press release, V&E officials and Civil Supplies officials from Sangareddy raided Samrat Food Industries at Kadpal in Sirgapur mandal on Monday and found 40,835 quintals of paddy stocks worth Rs 9.47 crore missing. Officials said the stocks were from the 2024-25 Vanakalam and Yasangi seasons.
Later, officials raided Venkateshwara Agro Industries at Mardi in Kalher mandal where they found 3,313 quintals of paddy stocks worth Rs 76.86 lakh missing. The information on shortage of stocks at these two rice mills was handed over to the Civil Supplies officials, who will initiate further action, the release added.
