Hyderabad: Love may seem so time consuming in this world of less attention span and instant gratification. ‘Virgin Story’ is one such tale of two confused couples, fresh out of college, who figure out true love in the midst of a break up.
Vicky (Vikram Sahidev) is a graphic designer and mostly freelances his work. Post a break up with his ex, there are several question marks staring at him. Meanwhile, Priyanshi (Sowmika Pandiyan) is yet to cope with the heartbreak that she experienced with her friend Sahil (Harish Kumar). This faint-hearted innocent girl gets consoled by her friends to come out of it. She is told that love is all trial and error and there are a lot of good fishes for which she can feel happy about rather than brooding on the past. Her friend Minty tries to suggest Priyanshi try a one-night stand with a stranger. That’s how the two heart-broken souls, Priyanshi and Vicky, bump into each other at a pub.
Having no clue about the one-night stand, both venture out in search of a proper place to spend time. Frightened over how the casual relation would lead them into, Priyanshi and Vicky explore things on this crazy night. Will they ever understand themselves to fall in love? What’s in store in the second half is fun to watch.
Experimenting with new talent has been yielding better results of late at the box office. ‘Virgin Story’ is made with all fresh faces. The story takes its sweet time to establish the characters of Priyanshi and Vicky. However, as it proceeds further, new characters keep chipping in at regular intervals to keep up the pace.
Raghu Karumanchi is seen as a sugar daddy who is desperately looking for a partner. Rocket Raghava as a three-star lodge owner is hillarious. He gets too talkative with mannequins which are placed to impress his clients. The comedy track between an auto driver and an old woman commuter is funny but it looks deliberately clumsy after one point. Shakalaka Shankar, Thagubothu Ramesh add a few sparkles in the end. Senior actor RK Mama, who shot to fame with Hyderabad Nawabs, appears in a cameo.
