Warangal: MLC Surbabhi Vani Devi said the voluntary organisations like Lions Clubs International (LCI) were reaching out to the needy with more effectiveness than the government organisations.

Addressing the LCI members at the Basara Vyasa Maharshi Region Meet (Dist 320 F) held here on Sunday, the MLC said her father and former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha Rao too had served the needy through the Swami Ramanand Theertha Trust for several years. “The members of the trust are still continuing with the service activities,” she said, and appreciated the Region Chairperson Janagam Anji Reddy who worked as the teacher in the Sarvail residential school for his commitment to serve the people.

Another guest Sowithri Lakshmana Charyulu, District Governor Mucha Raji Reddy, Kanna Parashuramulu, KU former VC and Prof V Gopal Reddy, Dr K Sudhakar Reddy, Janga Raghava Reddy, T Narender, PV Madanmohan Rao, Katanguri Ramgopal Reddy and others attended the meet.
