Telangana to host ‘Eat Right Walkathon’ and ‘Millet Mela’ on April 6
The Telangana Food Safety department is organising a two-part public engagement programme on April 6 as part of Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika Health Week. Events include an Eat Right Walkathon from Jal Vihar to Necklace Road, an Eat Right Mela at Nature Cure Hospital with training and certification for food handlers, and a Millet Mela.

Hyderabad: As part of Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika Health Week under the theme ‘Together for Health: Stand with Science,’ Telangana Food Safety (TFS) department is organising a two-part public engagement programme on April 6.
An Eat Right Walkathon to generate public awareness on safe, hygienic and nutritious food practices will run from Jal Vihar to HMDA Grounds, Necklace Road, covering around 2.5 km. Registration will begin at 5.15 am.
An Eat Right Mela at Nature Cure Hospital, Balkampet, Hyderabad, focusing on awareness, training and recognition, will include training for food handlers on safe and hygienic food practices, along with certificate distribution recognising excellence in Hygiene Rating, Eat Right Schools, Eat Right Campuses and registered small street food vendors.
A Millet Mela and the State Food Testing Laboratory will conduct a live demonstration on scientific methods used to identify common food adulterants, alongside public education on making informed and safe food choices, will also be held.
