Warangal Urban: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao here on Friday said that the walking track at the University College of Arts and Science (UCAS), Subedari, Hanmkonda, would be developed for the benefit of the walkers as hundreds of walkers do their morning walk on the ground. As a part of his morning walk, the Minister walked on the grounds and interacted with the walkers.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Rao said that they would take steps to improve the facilities at the ground for the use of the walkers. “The GWMC has also already decided to develop walking tracks in tri-cities- Warangal, Hanmkonda, and Kazipet including the Public Garden”, he said.

On the other hand, a cycling track has already been developed along the road from Fatmitha Junction to Subedari in Hanamkonda. Several other cycling tracks will be developed along the smart roads in the city under Smart City Mission (SCM),” he added. The track at the ground was already developed to some extent with MLC funds of former Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari a couple of years ago. Solar lamps were also set up along the track. According to the officials of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC), they were going to take up the construction of smart roads at a length of 40 km with Rs 350 crore under the SCM and all of them will soon have a dedicated cycling track and footpath.
