Hyderabad: Maintaining their stand, Congress MLAs from the erstwhile Warangal district have once again urged the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) to take disciplinary action against former MLC Konda Murali for his alleged objectionable remarks against party MLAs and senior leaders.

The friction between the Warangal MLAs and the Konda family has been simmering for several months now. In a renewed escalation, the MLAs submitted a fresh complaint to the TPCC Disciplinary Committee, expressing strong displeasure over Murali’s comments, which they claim are in violation of party discipline.

In response, Murali also filed a counter-complaint with the Disciplinary Committee, accusing a few Warangal MLAs of indulging in anti-party activities.

According to sources, Warangal West MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy, Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari, Vardhanapet MLA KR Nagaraju, and MLC Basavaraju Saraiah convened a meeting in Warangal on Sunday to discuss the issue and the lack of action so far.

Rajender Reddy pointed out that a complaint had already been submitted to the TPCC, and July 5 was set as the deadline for the leadership to act. “The ball is in the State leadership’s court now,” he was quoted as saying.

MLC Basavaraju Saraiah accused the former MLC of misleading the public by claiming he was not served a show-cause notice, despite appearing before the TPCC Disciplinary Committee. He also alleged that the Konda family had a track record of shifting loyalties across various political parties and showed little respect for internal party mechanisms like the Disciplinary Committee.

He added that before levelling allegations against others, the Konda family should introspect on their political history and their conduct within the party.
