Warangal: Commissioner of Police Amber Kishor Jah directed police personnel not to indulge in civil matters, such as money transactions and land disputes.

In a meeting held to review the crime, and law and order situation in the Warangal Commissionerate here on Friday, the commissioner said civil matters were the domains of civil courts and that the police should not interfere unnecessarily in them, except in matters where law and order issues were anticipated.

Stating that creating a safe environment for people was the key priority for the State government, he said the police officers posted in the field should focus on preparing and implementing effective strategies against the miscreants and drug peddlers.

“Police should scrupulously perform their duty without any pressure, only guided by law and public interest so as to instil the fear of law among the criminals and a sense of security among the law-abiding citizens,” he observed.

Stating that the police’s continuous action against criminals and antisocial elements would increase public confidence, he said maximum police presence in the field should be ensured to deter criminal elements.

The commissioner reviewed grave cases, crimes against women, property crimes, POCSO cases, missing persons, ganja and road accident cases registered under the jurisdiction of Warangal Police Commissionerate, as well as information regarding the steps taken to resolve the cases.
