Warangal: As part of the government’s special efforts to crackdown on the drug menace, Task Force sleuths, along with Subedari police, raided a lodge on Thursday and apprehended six youths for their alleged involvement in drug peddling and consumption.
Two of them were identified as drug peddlers, while others were as consumers and addicts. The peddlers are — Sivva Rohan (24), a B Tech student, of Pinnavari Street in Warangal, and Penchikala Kasi Rao of Madhapur under Cyberabad Police commissionerate.
Disclosing the details here on Friday, Commissioner Dr Tarun Joshi said that one more accused person, a drug consumer, is still at large. Police have withheld the names of the drug abusers. “While Sivva Rohan and Penchikala Kasi Rao were involved in consuming as well as selling of drugs such as LSD strips, charas, cocaine, weed oil or liquid ganja, dry ganja and MMDS capsules, the rest were consuming drugs,” the CP said. Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD), also known colloquially as acid, is a psychedelic drug.
Officials announced that they seized dry ganja (500 grams worth Rs 5,000), LSD papers 15 (worth Rs 60,000), charas, which is a cannabis concentrate made from the resin of a live cannabis plant and is handmade in black colour (approximately -15 grams worth Rs 75,000), cocaine in white colour (approximately 1.5 grams worth Rs 22,500) and MDMA pills (Methylenedioxy-methamphetamine) also called as Ecstasy/Molly – 36, (worth Rs 1,44,000), weed oil/liquid ganja (approximately – 10 ml worth Rs 10,000), two weed crusher machines, OCB rolling strips, pipes and other material used for the consumption of ganja. “The accused came in contact with each other through their common friends of Warangal and Hyderabad,” Joshi said.
From Goa
“On interrogation of all of them revealed that they were habituated to consuming drugs from the last three years. Rohan many times had been to Goa to purchase drugs, during which he came in contact with two Nigerians namely Jack and Calzofr who used to sell him drugs. Meanwhile, Kasi Rao, who is doing a private job in Hyderabad, came in contact with one Nigerian and was also purchasing drugs from him,” the CP added. Task Force Inspectors Ch Srinivas Ji, R Santhosh and other police personnel nabbed the accused.
