Warangal: P Pravinya, a 2016 batch IAS officer, assumed charge as the Commissioner, Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC), at the corporation head office on Friday. Addressing the staff, the new commissioner said that she would soon conduct review meetings department-wise and asked all the department heads to be ready with the updated files regarding the ongoing development works under the GWMC limits.
The new commissioner also said that the staff must have complete knowledge about the newly-enacted ‘Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019’.
Meanwhile, Additional Commissioner Ch Nageshwar, Superintending Engineer (SE) Satyanarayana, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CHMO) Dr B Raja Reddy, and other officials called on the new commissioner and congratulated her for assuming charge as the commissioner.
Prior to this posting, Pravinya worked as Additional Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). Pravinya’s appointment comes after the transfer of Pamela Satpathy who was posted as the Yadadri-Bhongir District Collector on June 13. Since then, Hanamakonda District Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu had been acting as the in-charge (FAC) Commissioner of the ULB. Later, Pravinya has called on Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu, and Commissioner of Police Dr Tarun Joshi.
