Warangal: TRS leader and former Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao, former director SAAP, Rajanala Srihari and several others have staged a dharna in front of BJP district office here on Friday demanding that the Centre purchase paddy.
They brought several bags of paddy in a bullock cart and dumped them at the office. Speaking on the occasion, the TRS leaders have made it clear that they would continue with their agitations against the BJP led union government for its refusal to buy paddy from Telangana.
“We will try to protect the interests of the paddy farmers. We will exert pressure on the Centre and ensure it will purchase each grain of paddy produced in Yasangi season,” Srihari added. TRS leaders Bandla Surender, Pavan, Siva Patel, Burri Prakash, Maganti Siva Kumar, Ramchander, and others were present.
