Khammam: The farmers at Kasna thanda in Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s Palair Assembly constituency have extended birthday wishes to former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in a spicy way.
Thinking innovatively, the farmers have written the words ‘Happy Birthday KCR’ using dry chillies on a kallam (a threshing floor used to dry harvest) at the thanda to celebrate Chandrashekhar Rao’s birthday.
The BRS district president, MLC Tata Madhusudhan, former MLA S Venkata Veeraiah, Khammam rural party president Bellam Venugopal and others joined the villagers to celebrate the occasion by cutting a cake and shouting slogans hailing the BRS chief.
Earlier in the day, grand celebrations were organised at BRS Bhavan in Khammam where the party leaders cut a cake. Madhusudhan, Veeraiah and the party leader K Koteswara Rao planted saplings following the call given by the party working president KT Rama Rao.
In another programme at Mamata Hospital former minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar along with the party city president P Nagaraju, district minority wing president Tajuddin, senior leaders Gundala Krishna, B Vijay Kumar and others cut a cake.
The party workers Bommera Ramamurthy, Pinni Koteswara Rao, Palli Upender, Matangi Anil, Potu Sarath, Miriyala Ramesh, Munna, Chanti, Venkat and others donated blood on the occasion.
Kothagudem district BRS president ex-MLA Rega Kantha Rao distributed fruits and breads to patients at Manuguru Government Area Hospital. Similar activities have taken place all over the erstwhile Khammam district.
