BRS celebrates KCR’s 71st birthday with grand festivities across Telangana and abroad
BRS working president KT Rama Rao, former Minister T Harish Rao, and Opposition leader in the Council S Madhusudhana Chari celebrated by cutting a huge 71 kg cake at Telangana Bhavan. The event also featured a special documentary showcasing Chandrashekhar Rao's life and political journey. Cultural programs were organized as part of the celebration, with participation from MPs, MLAs, former Ministers, corporators, and activists.

Hyderabad: BRS cadre along with people celebrated the 71st birthday of party president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday with grand festivities across the State and abroad as well. Party leaders, workers, and supporters gathered in large numbers to mark the occasion, with cultural programmes, social service activities, and special prayers conducted for well-being of the former Chief Minister.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao along with former Minister T Harish Rao and Opposition leader in Council S Madhusudhana Chari had cut a massive 71 kg cake at Telangana Bhavan. As part of the celebrations, a special documentary on Chandrashekhar Rao’s life and political journey was screened. Cultural programmes also were organised on the occasion. MPs, MLAs, former Ministers, corporators, and activists, participated in the event.
Social service programmes were taken up on a large scale, with plantation of saplings, blood donation camps, fruit distributions, and community feasts organised across the State.
MLC K Kavitha performed a special puja at Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple in Nandi Nagar, organised by BRS corporator Manne Kavitha. A large-scale tree plantation drive was conducted under the Green India Challenge and Haritha Sena, with former Rajya Sabha member J Santosh Kumar planting saplings with students at Masjid Banda Government School in Serilingampalli.
A special celebration took place at St Philomena School and Church, where a tree plantation drive and cake-cutting ceremony were organised under the leadership of M Rajiv Sagar. Former MLA Stevenson and senior leader Mujebuddin were among the guests.
People in many districts expressed their admiration for Chandrashekhar Rao, celebrating the day in their own ways. In Mulugu district’s Bhagya Thanda, the birthplace of the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme, BRS leaders distributed sarees to local women in a symbolic tribute to Chandrashekhar Rao’s welfare initiatives. Former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy led the distribution, presenting new clothes to the Kheema Nayak family, who were the first family to benefit from the scheme.
The BRS chief’s birthday was also celebrated with enthusiasm abroad. BRS Australia president Kasarla Nagender Reddy led events in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane. In the UK, BRS NRI members held celebrations in London, while in the USA, blood donation camps were organised as part of the festivities. Supporters across the globe marked the occasion, expressing their admiration for Chandrashekhar Rao’s contributions to Telangana’s development and governance.
