Hyderabad: The release of surplus floodwater from Himayatsagar by lifting nine out of 17 floodgates resulted in inundation at Puranapul area on Thursday.
Asifnagar Mandal Revenue Officer S Jyothi told Telangana Today that the situation was being closely monitored. “The floodwater suddenly rose near Puranapul. As of now, there is no danger to the colonies abutting this bridge.”
All measures have been taken to evacuate families to safe places like community halls and function halls in case the situation worsens, the MRO said.
