Hyderabad: Taking strong objection to the verbal attacks that took place in the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly on Friday, popular Telugu film actor Junior NTR said the politicians should focus on discussing the public issues rather than indulging in personal criticism.
In two-minute video shared on social media here on Saturday, he said that criticism and counter criticism were common in politics. But the remarks against any women would trigger anarchic rule in the State.
Stating that he was pained with the verbal attacks that occurred in the AP Assembly, Junior NTR, who is the son of former Minister Nandamuri Harikrishna, appealed to the leaders that respecting women was part of the culture in the country.
“It is our responsibility to save our culture and pass it on to future generation,” he said, requesting the leaders to stop anarchic culture and lay more focus on fighting on public issues.
“I am hoping that this episode would end now,” Junior NTR said, who clarified that he was making an appeal not on behalf of the affected family but as the son, husband, father and a responsible citizen of India.
