Hyderabad: BJP MP M Raghunandan Rao on Tuesday visited Borabanda and extended support to locals protesting a proposed graveyard at Erragadda.
The State government plans to allocate 7,500 square yards of land at Erragadda for a Muslim graveyard. Local residents living close to the land parcel have expressed their reservations about a burial ground in the midst of residential areas.
On Tuesday morning, the locals staged a protest against the State government’s move, which they said was aimed at appeasing the local Muslim community. Later in the day, Raghunandan Rao visited the site and joined the protest. He said the government should not go ahead with the proposal as local residents are opposed to it.
