Hyderabad: In what appears to be a case of a serious security breach at Telangana Secretariat, a person impersonating as a constable and part of Chief Minister’s security detail, entered the premises and recorded and uploaded Instagram reels.
The Saifabad police on Wednesday arrested the impostor, a 31-year-old Thaturi Ravi, who also used aliases Charan Yadavu and Nikhil Yadavu. The suspect works as a hotel employee and resides in Amberpet.
According to police, Ravi entered the Secretariat on April 26 dressed in a khaki uniform and falsely claimed to be part of the Chief Minister’s security team. He allegedly told visitors he could arrange direct meetings with the Chief Minister without prior appointments.
Police have found that he recorded an Instagram reel while in uniform to gain public trust and promote his false identity.
He developed an obsession with the police profession after previously working at a canteen where he observed officers closely, they said.
Saifabad Police have seized uniforms, accessories and a mobile phone from him.
