Watch: Slab of under construction block collapses in University of Hyderabad; three injured

The injured persons were shifted to a nearby private hospital. Their condition is said to be stable

Hyderabad: Atleast three persons were injured after the slab of the under construction new administration block collapsed at the University of Hyderabad on Thursday night.

The incident occurred when the metal frames being erected for construction of the pillar and ceiling of the building extension suddenly collapsed injuring the construction workers.

The reason for the incident was not clear.

On being alerted by the university authorities, the Gachibowli police reached the spot and took up the rescue operation. The injured persons were immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Their condition is said to be stable.

The Gachibowli police and the university authorities have launched a joint investigation into the incident. They are investigating if safety procedures were in place at the time of construction work being taken up or if any man made error resulted in the collapse.
