Mulugu: Police have reportedly taken into custody a woman in connection with the suicide of Wazedu SI, Rudrarapu Harish.

It was said that a few months ago the woman, who lives in Hyderabad for studies, came in contact with Harish and they used to chat on social media.

In due course of time, intimacy developed between them and they decided to get married. When Harish inquired about her, he found that the woman from Chilukur of Suryapet district had befriended three youths when she was at Chilkur. When one of them refused to marry her, she lodged a complaint with Chilukur police and a case was registered in connection with the complaint.

After this, Harish refused to marry her. He was said to have gone to a private resort near Mullakatta on Sunday to sort out the issue with the woman and an argument broke out between them.

Sources said that when Harish tried to make a settlement, the woman did not agree and threatened to take the matter to the notice of higher authorities. Upset over the development, the SI ended his life and was found dead on Monday morning. Police were yet to make an official statement regarding the case.
