Medak: Government Nursing College students took to the streets in Medak over lack of facilities on Friday. The students, who staged a protest near the hostel, said that the 120 students in the hostel had just one toilet, which remained uncleaned for days, making life difficult for the users.
Speaking on the occasion, the students complained that they have been paying Rs 6,000 as hostel fee every month apart from Rs 20,000 admission fee, but they were not being served proper food. The students said that snakes were also entering the hostel premises, but the college principal never acted on their complaints.
As the students continued their protest, the officials accompanied the students to Collector Prathima Singh’s office, where the Collector interacted with the students and patiently noted down their issues. She assured that the issues would be resolved shortly.
