Siddipet: In a pioneering initiative to support women farmers, Siddipet Collector M Manu Chowdary has urged them to embrace entrepreneurship and expand their economic opportunities.
He was speaking at the launch of “We Reach”, an agricultural cohort by Subhiksha Agri Foundation and WE HUB, in collaboration with the District Rural Development Organisation (DRDO), held at Siddipet IT Tower on Wednesday.
Manu Chowdary said the initiative aims to transform women farmers into empowered entrepreneurs in agriculture and allied sectors.
The organisations have identified 50 aspiring women entrepreneurs from farming and related sectors. They will support enterprise creation across agricultural and non-agricultural value chains. The programme will provide structured incubation, mentorship, and skill training, besides facilitating access to markets, networks, and financial assistance.
WE HUB CEO Sita Pallacholla said for the first time they have decided to train women in rural parts of Siddipet district while the training programmes are typically conducted in Hyderabad. She added that similar programmes would be held across Telangana if the Siddipet initiative is successful.
The Telangana Development Forum (TDF) has extended Rs.1.27 lakh in financial aid to Subhiksha Foundation for organising the programme.
DRDO Project Director Jaydev Arya, Subhiksha Foundation co-founder Narendar and others were present.
