"They can come to our city, but don’t come with empty hands. We want these Ministers to get the Rs 1,350 crore flood relief requested by the Chief Minister to help the families affected by the recent floods,” said KTR.

Hyderabad: The lion always walks in alone while the others come in herds. Likening Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to a lion capable of holding its ground, TRS working president KT Rama Rao said Union Ministers were coming to the city in groups to campaign for the BJP.
Chandrashekhar Rao had fought for statehood for Telangana alone like a lion, Rao said, even as he welcomed all the Union Ministers to Hyderabad.
“They can come to our city, but don’t come with empty hands. We want these Ministers to get the Rs 1,350 crore flood relief requested by the Chief Minister to help the families affected by the recent floods,” he said, addressing huge crowds that turned out to listen to him at Indira Gandhi crossroads in Alwal, Yapral and Anandbagh crossroads under Malkajgiri Assembly constituency on the sixth day of his roadshow ahead of the GHMC elections.
People should question the Union Ministers if they fail to get the flood relief amount, he said. Referring to the Rs 20,000 crore stimulus package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to revive the economy after the lockdown, Rao said each individual from the country’s 132 crore population was supposed to get Rs 15,384. “But did anyone here get the amount?” he asked the people.
Continuing his scathing attack on BJP leaders, Rao said they had stalled the distribution of the State government’s interim financial relief of Rs 10,000 to flood-affected families. On top of this, the same leaders were misleading people promising that they would give Rs 25,000 to each household. “When they (BJP leaders) are unable to get a single paisa for the development of the city, how can they give Rs 25,000 to every household?” Rao asked.
Rao also pointed out that on being requested by Chief Ministers in BJP-ruled States like Karnataka and Gujarat, Modi had immediately sanctioned Rs.669 crore and Rs.500 crore as flood relief, but even after several weeks of Telangana’s request for similar flood relief, there was no response at all.
“Why is Modi not extending the same financial aid to Telangana?” Rao asked, cautioning the public to be wary of the promises doled out by BJP leaders.
“It was the TRS government that always stood with the people during crisis. Be it the Covid-19 pandemic or the recent floods, the State government had come to the rescue of the people,” he said. At Yapral crossroads, the Minister entertained the crowd with a few words in Tamil since the local populace had a lot of Tamilians.
