Khammam: Telangana is the only State in the country that has been implementing numerous welfare and development programmes without an interruption, asserted Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar on Friday.
The minister distributed as many as 109 Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak and CMRF cheques to beneficiaries at Raghunathapalem in the district. Speaking on the occasion he said the welfare programmes were being implemented without any hindrance because of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s commitment towards welfare of the people in the State.
Ajay Kumar distributed Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak worth Rs 76 lakh to 76 families and CMRF cheques worth Rs 15.23 lakh to around 33 beneficiaries. The Chief Minister was taking special care for the speedy clearance of applications seeking assistance under CMRF, he noted.
He also handed over Rs 2 lakh insurance cheque to the family of a deceased TRS worker P Venkateshwarlu of Manchukonda village in Raghunathapalem mandal. Providing insurance facility to all party members indicates the Chandrashekhar Rao’s concern towards them, he said.
Later in the day in Khammam, the minister along with ZP Chairman L Kamal Raju distributed smart phones to accredited social health activists (ASHAs). The minister informed that smartphones would be distributed to as many as 1355 ASHAs in the district to deliver digital services.

Fulfilling a long cherished dream of the poor who were living in huts erected on government land for many years at Srinivasa Nagar in 27th division in Khammam Municipal Corporation Ajay Kumar distributed permanent housing titles to 353 residents.
At a programme held on Thursday marking the Chief Minister’s birthday the minister handed over the pattas to the residents. “I am very happy that the poor now become owners of the land on Chief Minister’s birthday and there would be no better day than this to fulfill their desire” he said.
The Chief Minister during his visit to Khammam some time back promised the residents that they would be given pattas. The government issued a GO to give land titles to 353 people at a time, Ajay Kumar noted.
