Wine shop worker held in Hyderabad for stealing Rs 22.3 lakh

Hyderabad: The Kushaiguda police arrested a worker of a wine shop on charges of stealing Rs 22.3 lakh from the wine shop on Wednesday. Police recovered Rs 22.1 lakh from him.
The accused, B Sunil (33), an engineering dropout from LB Nagar, was working at Sai Durga Wines at Chinthalkunta for over three years now and everyday collected the earnings of the day from the shop and handed it over to Ramachandra Reddy, a businessman in Chaitanyapuri.
According to the police, being a ‘dry day’ on August 1 and 2, the shop did big business on July 31. That day, Sunil left the shop with the cash to hand it over to Ramachandra Reddy, but instead fled. Based on a complaint, the police booked a case and learnt that Sunil was taking shelter in Yadadri-Bhongir.
They tracked him and caught when he returned to Hyderabad with the remaining cash.
