Blue Colt constables Balakrishna and Ravi saved a woman who jumped to Shivrareddypet pond to end her life
Hyderabad: Timely action by a Blue Colt team of Vikarabad police station helped save the life of a woman who jumped into a pond on Saturday evening.
The woman a farm worker lived along with her husband Yadaiah and two children at Kothrepally village in Vikarabad (town) police station limits. On Saturday afternoon, the couple had an argument over some household issues following which the woman got upset and left the house.
She headed to the Shivrareddypet pond and jumped into the water aiming to kill herself. A passerby who noticed this, called the police control room over Dial 100 and the information was immediately passed on to Vikarabad police.
“On getting information, our Blue Colt constables Balakrishna and Ravi rushed to the spot on their motorcycle. After spotting the woman, they jumped into the pond and pulled her from the water,” said Rajasekhar, Inspector Vikarabad Town police station.
The woman was later shifted by the police to a local government hospital where she is undergoing treatment. The higher officials of the Vikarabad police appreciated the action of the two policemen.
