Woman dead, husband injured after truck hits bike at Medchal

Hyderabad: A woman died and her husband was injured when the motorcycle they were traveling on was hit by a rashly driven truck at Medchal on Thursday.
The couple was identified as Syed Salim and his wife Reshma Begum, both from Medchal.
According to the police, the couple was proceeding on the bike from Gandimaisamma towards Medchal main road. When they reached near Suthariguda, the driver of a truck which was driven in a rash and negligent manner hit their bike from behind.
“The couple fell down and suffered grievous bleeding injuries. They were immediately shifted to hospital. While Reshma Begum died under treatment, her husband is under treatment,” police said.
The Medchal police booked a case of negligence causing death and injuries and are investigating. They are also investigating if the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol.
