Hyderabad: The Hayathnagar police have reportedly detained a woman allegedly involved in multiple honey-trap and extortion cases across the Rachakonda Commissionerate limits.
According to information available, at least eight cases have already been registered against her for trapping men, recording them secretly, and extorting large sums of money.
It is learnt that the woman suspect first befriended men under the guise of business dealings, gained their trust and later recorded videos during private moments. She then allegedly used these videos to blackmail the victims and extort money from them.
As per reports, the woman had also reportedly entered into a second marriage with a Station House Officer (SHO) from Suryapet district. She is also accused of cheating her own car driver, allegedly collecting several lakhs from him under false pretexts.
The honey-trap network is believed to have targeted several individuals, including political leaders and police officers from the erstwhile Nalgonda district. Officials say the victims were threatened with secretly recorded videos and coerced into paying money.
The Rachakonda police have not confirmed the arrest yet.
