Mancherial/Nirmal: A woman died on the spot and another person was injured when a TSRTC bus mowed down a motorcycle they were riding on the outskirts of Somagudem village in Kasipet mandal on Thursday.
Sub-Inspector Naresh said that the deceased was Nalla Laxmi (49), a resident of Teegalpahad village in Naspur mandal. The injured was Gopanapalli Santosh from Mancherial town.
Laxmi suffered fatal injuries while Santosh escaped with minor injuries when the bus collided with the two-wheeler near a church. Death was instant for Laxmi. Both Laxmi and Santosh were proceeding to Rebbena mandal in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district at the time of the mishap. The bus was heading to Mancherial from Bellampalli town. Santosh’s condition is said to be stable.
Based on a complaint lodged by Kundella Narmada, the daughter of the victim, a case was registered against the driver of the bus. Investigations were taken up.
