Khammam: A woman and a minor died of electrocution in two different incidents in erstwhile Khammam district on Tuesday.
At Tekulapalli mandal headquarters in Kothagudem district, a 10-year-old boy, Mahender, died when he came in contact with a live wire at a Ganesh pandal.
In another incident, Venkata Ramana (30), an agriculture labourer, died as she came in contact with a live electric distribution wire that snapped and fell in the agriculture field where she was working at Vengannapet village of Tallada mandal in Khammam district.
The villagers alleged that because of the negligence of the electricity department and V Veeraiah, a farmer, the woman died. Several other workers engaged in work in the field, however, escaped to safety.
