The Telangana High Court criticised civic and police authorities for failing to act on its earlier directive to remove an unauthorised Ganesh pandal in Alwal. The case arose from a contempt petition filed by an 80-year-old resident whose home entrance was blocked.

Reports indicate that Shyam Prasad, a software professional from Alkapuri Township, won the laddu bid for Rs 15 lakh. Overjoyed, he celebrated with a dance at the Ganesh pandal before heading home.
