Hyderabad: A three-day workshop for startups in the defense and aerospace industry is being held wherein entrepreneurs from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha are being supported. The workshop is designed to support innovative entrepreneurs by transforming their ventures into a sustainable enterprise and also connect them with American and Indian corporations.
The programme consists of a three-day workshop in Hyderabad that started from December 9 for 25 entrepreneurs, with a focus on startups led by women and/or people under 35 years of age. Participants were chosen through a competitive process.
The US Consul General in Hyderabad Joel Reifman addressed the entrepreneurs at the GMR Aero Towers along with Telangana Industries and Commerce principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Lockheed Martin’s William Blair, S G K Kishore of GMR, and Erik Azulay of the Alliance for Commercialization and Innovation Research (ACIR).
Consul General Reifman said, “These entrepreneurs are not only contributing to the deepening defense relationship between the United States and India, they are also honing business skills that will foster economic growth and vitality in both of our countries. What’s more, nearly half of the startups here today are led by women and the vast majority are either based in or founded by someone from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, or Odisha.
