Yadadri-Bhongir: The department of Anaesthesiology and Critical care on Thursday conducted an interactive workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bibinagar.
A total of 275 participants received certification in this life saving skill, which would further enhance emergency patient management services in the hospital.
Making concluding remarks at the workshop, AIIMS Director Dr Vikas Bhatia said that similar works shops would be conducted by AIIMS at the district and community level in future . Teaching BLS to more number of the people was nothing but more lives to be saved as immediate resuscitative efforts make the maximum impact on recovery. Early recognition of cardiac arrest , even by lay persons can be taught and emergency services can be activated.
Immediate and correct method of delivering life support at the site of collapse can save life. This workshop was just a step in a long journey towards better health care and improving services in the district, he added.
